Our Mission

Daya’s true mission is to cultivate compassion and loving-kindness for the world through promoting acts of kindness. Our talented artisans in India put their heart and soul into making jewelry that inspires and gives back to the world.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                               

Daya’s birthplace is India, so we hold Mother India very close to our hearts. To this day, we continue working with our masterful artisans residing in Jaipur & Pushkar, Rajasthan.

But Covid-19 has had a huge impact on India, and in particular, Rajasthan. A country and a city that usually attract tourists from all across the globe are now suffering. The local economy is largely affected by the lack of tourism and many families have lost their jobs, can’t afford essential food supplies, and don’t have access to education.

It really hurts us that people in India are going through hardship, so we decided to focus our energy and resources on bettering the lives of the community.

We want to see Pushkar, meaning “Blue Lotus flower”, come back to life and flourish in its full beauty. Together with the local charity called Fior Di Loto, we are fulfilling our mission.

Who is Fior Di Loto?

Fior Di Loto is a non-profit organization that helps over 700 Indian girls and their families improve their quality of life. Founded in 2003 by Mara Sandri, Deepu Maharshi and Guadalupe Tapia Paykar, the charity offers economical support to the elderly, widows, and families in need within the villages surrounding Pushkar.

By providing food, healthcare, education, construction of water wells, and a helping hand, Fior Di Loto is making a transformative change in the disadvantaged communities.

As a non-profit organization, the foundation is built solely on voluntary support from its compassionate members. Since there are no huge expenses, the donations go directly to its fundamental purpose – improving the lives of people in Pushkar.

Daya & Fior Di Loto

In reflection of the current times, we feel that there is no time like the present to move forward and give back to the source of where Daya originally began from - India. That’s why we have consciously chosen to donate 10% of all proceedings to the Fior Di Loto Foundation.

Every purchase you make goes towards fulfilling one of the goals that the charity has outlined and with which we deeply resonate.

Fior Di Loto Goals:   

•  Free education for 1,000 girls living in Pushkar & the surrounding area
•  Drill additional water wells for surrounding villages   
•  Provide monthly support for senior citizens and widows
•  Provide a college education with free work coaching
•  Help disadvantaged girls find their way into self-employment
•  Purchase rickshaws and sewing machines as tools for employment
•  Increase the number of families supported by the feeding program

For every €9 raised we can provide a nutritious food pack that feeds an entire family.

To date, we have managed to feed  hundreds of families, and have helped re-open Fior Di Loto’s school for young girls by providing the necessary equipment and workforce for sanitising the school regularly.
